A clinical study presented at the American Chemical Society in San Diego and recently published earlier in the Diabetes Metabolic Syndrome and Obesity. The study involved 16 overweight people (with Body Mass Indexes 25 to 30) between the ages of 22 to 46 years old.
They were monitored for 22 weeks, in which they were given a low dose 700 mg green coffee bean extract tablet, a high dose 1,050 mg extract tablet and a placebo. Participants were advised to take three green coffee capsules each day, 30 minutes before each meal. The overall diet and exercise were thoroughly monitored by the experts. Throughout the clinical study, participants consumed an average of 2400 calories per day and burned 400 calories.
At the end of the study, results were measured. An average weight loss of 17 pounds was observed in participants.
