Fifteen minutes of sun exposure can result in the body producing more than 10000 IU of vitamin D. Interestingly, The Vitamin D Council argues that supplementing daily with 5000 IU of Vitamin D mimics this natural production for individuals who are deficient, or at risk for deficiency. Dr. Henley's findings seem to further support the Vitamin D Council's recommended dose.
