The Problem of Bed Bugs Around the States

(EMAILWIRE.COM, October 08, 2010 ) Florida, USA - In recent years there have been a number of bed bug outbreaks documented in the U.S news media outlets. One very recent incident involved a federal government building where bed bugs had reportedly been discovered in one of the offices in the US Agency for International Development building. A spokesperson who handled the PR for the case was not able to say exactly how the bed bugs managed to get into the building, although there is no doubt that it has become a large problem in places all over the country. Many people in multiple states have expressed their concern for the bed bug epidemic.

According to Dee Cohen, owner of the website ItchySkinRash.net, “ I get e-mails on a daily basis from blog readers worried if their rash is the result of Scabies or Bed Bugs. There is a lot of concern also from parents about rashes that are passed around their child’s school.”

Bed bugs have invaded individual homes and even entire apartment complexes. In another recent story which first appeared in the news a law student from Cleveland actually filed a lawsuit against the “Reserve Square Apartments” after discovering that his apartment had become infested with bed bugs. The student perused the case, asking for no less than $142,000 in order to cover all of the damages that had been done because of the infestation. The bed bugs reportedly spread to several other apartments and caused numerous red welts to appear all over his body as a result.

The student claims that he was unable to sleep because of the infestation and should be compensated for the damaged property and physical inflictions put on him because of the bed bugs. Although no other tenants in the building complained about bed bugs, the evidence was overwhelming. Bed bugs have become a nation-wide nuisance which is being dealt with as effectively as possible. There are multiple tips for people who wish to avoid a bed bug infestation, such as keeping the area being lived in as neat as possible.

Another news story revealed that an entire apart building in Louisville became infested with bed bugs, affecting a number of elderly residents who filed a complaint because of the problems that came about as a result of the bugs. Many pest experts claim that Louisville is has a serious problem of bed bug infestations. It has topped the list of states with infestation problems for quite some time now and it seems that stories continue to get reported. There is no doubt that these tiny little insects are becoming a problem all across America, and it with the frequency of international travel the problem compounds.
