(EMAILWIRE.COM, January 29, 2007 ) Sydney, AustraliaAll Saints - Studio 1Music Review by Helen Panopoulos6 years on, several failed solo attempts and a few kids later and what do you get? The return of the UK girl group All Saints with there latest offering titled Studio 1.A Greatest Hits compilation would have been better money spent then to release an album 6 years on with the same vibe of that of the 90's. Opening track Rock Steady sets the tone for the album whilst Chick Fit is perhaps the best example of some dancehall influence with a catchy riff and the sound of repetitive drums. Hell No is another track reminiscent of All Saints past, featuring the odd swear word and sampling some raw outdated attitude that may come to irritate few.As a whole a good attempt but nothing new as one would expect a decade later.Cherish - UnappreciatedMusic Review by MC the HaterWhatever happened to Destiny's Child, one day they weren't splitting up, the next Beyonce is releasing an album and the others have fallen off the face of the planet. The disappearance of Destiny's Child has left a gaping hole in the Pop RnB market, and Cherish seems to be attempting to fill it. Cherish is a group of four very similar looking, smooth skinned, sleek haired singing sisters, by 'sisters' I mean the biological kind as well as the African-American kind. They debuted in 2003 with the single "Miss P" however it wasn't until 2006 that an album was released to the masses.Their first album 'Unappreciated' is rather bland but not completely without merit. The club track 'Do it to it' featuring Sean Paul (the Youngbloodz) is the semi-shiny highlight of the album, it was released in conjunction with a how-to guide for snap dance which is a dance style emerging from Atlanta in the Mid2000s, check out YouTube for the multitude of demonstrations. The first song 'That Boi' produced by Jazzy Pha, is also an upbeat, catchy tune but the rest of the tracks seemed to blend into one big mush of harmonies, soft beats and sweet crooning.Fat Joe - Me, Myself & IMusic Review by Peter PetersonFat Joe never really claimed to be a superstar rapper; in his DITC days he was never spectacular, and he was always more of the business-savvy type when Pun was blowing up - but after Pun's timely demise (RIP; but he was cheating death once he passed 300 pounds), Joey stepped up to the plate and billed himself first and foremost as a rapper. He's come good in the past, Lean Back was killer, as was What's Luv and most of his 2005 LP All or Nothing was fire. His 2006 offering Me, Myself & I, however, is a disappointing album, where Joe shows very little growth. The production is pretty hot, although not really fucking with All of Nothing, with Streetrunner and Scott Storch holding down the bulk of the beats - but Fat Joe (or as he's now calling himself Cook Crack) doesn't hold up his end of the bargain. He insists on rapping about flipping raw, cooking crack and distributing drugs to the Bronx, which I do not buy for one second. It's widely known that Joey was once a bad little fucker, with an impressive street cred, but what he doesn't realise is that people no longer buy that you're a dope boy in the streets of the Bronx, when you're flying in your own private G4 jet.Lil Wayne's two guest appearances (Make it Rain is a hot track, no doubt) on this album are the highlights of this otherwise flat album; do not go out of your way to cop it.To read more hip-hop and R&B music reviews go to moob.comFor info on submitting a music review contact moobcontact@moob.com (02)8484 3600www.moob.com###
