(EMAILWIRE.COM, April 01, 2012 ) San Francisco, CA - The recently passed Assured–Care act has given the power of being insured to the persons in the age brackets which are younger. The Annual Cap is also set to rise to $1.25 million. However Obama’s health care reform is seen to be heading in the right direction. The provision which gives the parents to retain their children on their own health insurance plan gave the people the chance and the number of children having issuance is now at 71.9% in the present year from 69.1% in the year 2009.
The numbers indicate no change in the trends in health insurance with the numbers continuing the upward slope. The number of uninsured remained high at 49.8 million for the year 2009. The overall state in the nation remained unchanged at the same rate of 16.3%. One of the reasons for the rise in the number of uninsured could be the law which states that adults without children are not eligible for Medicaid.
The reasons for the drop in health insurance seem to be the dependant on the rate of unemployment. The number of people, who obtained their insurances through their employers dropped to 55.5%for the year 2010 from 56.6% the previous year. Maybe it was the rising number of uninsured which spurred the government into action and they seem to be picking up speed.
Obviously, falling sick was fast becoming a “no option” and more and more organizations started to take a hand in providing either the people in their in their locality or the people in their organization with the health insurance that they could not afford. The yoke of providing the health insurance to the people now fell to the organizations like Medicaid and Medicare, with various other state and federal organizations chipping in to do their bit.
On Monday the 26th 2012, the hearing on ‘ObamaCare’ will be begun by the Supreme Court. It is contended that the duality of power between the federal and the state authorities which forms one of the distinctive features of the Constitution could be up under discussion. The individual liberty as guaranteed under the structure of the constitution may come under severe stress due to the aspect of political accountability.
It is very likely that as the opposition to the health reform gains support, it could get over turned. Since the day when the bill on Health care become law, which is approaching the two years mark now, small incremental changes are being brought into effect by the government. It may take another 3 full years for the entire reforms to get their final shape, which means one will only get to feel the full benefit by about the year 2013 or so. One can only conjecture as to the costs of health insurance in the meantime.
So, till we get to hear the verdict of the Supreme Court next week, the health care bill, one will have to be satisfied with the progress made in the legislation done with regards to the bill. The House voted to in effect repeal a part of the bill in order to effect changes that would bring down the cost of Medicare by 2014.
