(EMAILWIRE.COM, November 19, 2007 ) Sacramento, CA - Jennifer ran out the front door of the adoption agency and hid inside the van that brought her to this location again. She was afraid of going to another foster home. She feared not seeing her five younger sisters. Several adults went searching for her, but it was Luis Sosa who found her, crying, and assured her that things were going to be different this time. And, they were. Jennifer and her sisters were in for an incredible journey of hope, home, values and music. Born to a mother who was unable to raise them, the six sisters, including two sets of twins, found themselves living in separate foster homes near and around Fresno, California. The two sets of twins were kept together, but the oldest and youngest were not so lucky. In 2001, Luis and Maria Sosa decided to become foster parents since they did not have any children of their own at home. They had cared for several children of different ages, but it wasn’t until they were assigned to care for Lena and Samantha, the oldest set of twins, that they thought about adoption. The Sosa’s learned from the twins about the four other sisters, Jennifer, the other twins, Ruby and Priscilla, and little baby Heaven, all who had been placed in separate homes, and how they only saw each other on occasions. Feeling the need for all the girls to be together, the Sosa’s with the help of friends, family and people at the adoption agency, made high strides to adopt all the girls. And, on December 15, 2006, the Sosa’s adopted all of them and became a family. The girls were happy and immediately began to call the Sosa’s mom and dad. They noticed their new dad had a garage full of musical instruments and asked if he could teach them how to play. The joy of being a family once more motivated them to quickly learn to play the instruments and sing in harmony. This Christmas, the sisters, Jennifer-12, Lena-10, Samantha-10, Ruby-8, Priscilla-8, and Heaven-6 will have been together a whole year, and are now performing songs of joy, fun, and happiness as a band simply called “The Sosa Girls.”The Sosa Girls are featured in a heartwarming story on December’s issue of Woman’s Day Magazine, “A Family For Christmas,” and on www.calmagazine.com, Channel 9, “America’s Music Cafe.”###Contact:Adrian Perez aperez@calmagazine.comTel: (916) 396-4053
