The Compression Ring with patented Nitinol Leaf Springs is deployed to reconnect the colon after resection. The Applicator is withdrawn distal to the anastomosis site, which helps preserve the integrity of the anastomosis. During compression anastomosis, the Compression Ring’s Nitinol Leaf Springs compress the tissue dynamically according to tissue thickness, while exerting a controlled, constant force along the anastomotic line. Anastomotic tissue compressed within the Compression Ring sloughs while new tissue is peripherally formed.
