The Fund’s goal is to save lives through education and assistance for women who may be at risk for breast cancer as well as those who may have already been diagnosed with the potentially deadly disease and are living in the Cincinnati, Ohio area.
Free mammograms are provided through the Fund to women who are either at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines or who are experiencing severe financial hardship and are uninsured or underinsured and are ineligible for other breast-screening programs. Applicants must be living within the counties of Hamilton, Butler, Warren and Clermont in Ohio or Boone, Kenton and Campbell in Kentucky or Dearborn County in Indian.
After the applicant completes an application form by calling 1-866-557-PINK (7465) or downloading the application found online at www.proscan.com/_filelib/FileCabinet/CCPF/Pink_Ribbon_Centers/MammoMatch_Application_2012.pdf, the Fund will screen the applicant at one of two ProScan Pink Ribbon Centers which are located at 4850 Red Bank Expressway and 5 East Liberty Street in Cincinnati. Transportation may also be provided by the Fund for qualified individuals.
If further treatment is indicated after the mammogram, the Fund’s staff will provide options through the Fund’s partner programs.
In addition to diagnostic services, the Fund also provides Pink Ribbon Bags to newly diagnosed breast cancer patients. To date the bags have been distributed to women in 36 states. The bags include items such as encouraging reading material and books, a pink satin pillowcase, a pink blanket, pink fuzzy slipper socks, pure romance oils and more.
