Jerome D. Marrow Faked DoctorÂ’s Note to Dodge Court Hearing

(Medical-NewsWire.com, July 03, 2013 ) Denver, CO -- Jerome Marrow, who saw his hearing over a felony looming closely, tried to hand in a doctor’s note claiming he had a life-threatening infection to dodge the hearing and postpone it for a little longer.

The 34 year old Monticello man was charged last week for forging a document in court proceedings, as well as contempt of court and a misdemeanor for obstruction of justice. His actions could result in a pulled plea agreement for the original case that may spare him years in prison.

Marrow was scheduled for a hearing on April 16 for swindling money. Before the court date, he send the court seven pages from a doctor that claimed he was suffering from a life threatening staph infection in his right lung that required extensive, long term treatment. Believing the documents, the judge pushed back the court date a month.

On May 20th, Marrow went for the hearing and pleaded guilty in the swindling case. He was scheduled to be sentenced on July 26th, but asked for that to be pushed back as well to finished his supposed treatments. However, when investigators contacted the doctor that Morrow said he was seeing, the doctor claimed he had never seen Marrow and had written no such records about a patient.

There is no word yet on if the new charges will derail the plea agreement set by both Marrow’s lawyers and the prosecutor, but Marrow was charged in 2005 for forging evidence in a different county’s court case.
