said psychic Jennifer Williams, Castro would never find true love in her life. Williams said she knew how to lift the curse - for a price.
The initial consultation cost Castro $500, and when the sessions began in August of 2010, the sessions only began getting pricier. Over the course of two years, Castro spent over $4,000 on Williams’ psychic services. She bought candles blessed by the psychic, wrote love letters and a list of nine things she wanted from her boyfriend. According to Castro, Williams promised her that her list would come true once her curse was lifted.
In addition, Castro spent $1,400 in gift cards for Williams to buy items that were supposed to represent the love between Castro and her boyfriend. Then, she paid the psychic $5,020 to commission a painting that would help lift the curse for forever.
The last item clued Castro in to the scam she was pulled into by Williams. The painting never happened and her relationship with her boyfriend never got better, either. After spending $11,000 trying to get the curse lifted, Castro sued Williams for fraud and intentional neglect, as well as emotional distress.
According to court documents, “No change occurred in plaintiff’s life as promised by the defendant throughout the two years that she was seeing the defendant”.
