Anti-Aging Products: The Untold Story

How to use Vitamin C Serum

(Medical-NewsWire.com, January 20, 2014 ) Dallas, TX -- Women are dying to look younger, literally. Recent studies have uncovered that many anti-aging products have been hiding a secret. It has been said that, "Every wrinkle has a story." Now it is being found that many of the products used to combat those wrinkles have a story all their own and it's not a good one.

Many age defying creams, lotions and serums have been proven to contain ingredients that are harmful to the skin. Not only are they not preventing the aging process, they are actually causing it to accelerate. "The problem is getting serious," commented Dermatologist Brett Myers. "I am seeing more patients than ever due to product problems."

The idea of anti-aging products is very appealing. After all, Who doesn't want to look younger? Reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, lifting sagging skin, diminishing dark blotches, it is a great concept but when a product is doing the exact opposite of what it claims to be doing, there is a problem.

The truth of the matter is that many wrinkle creams are flat out destroying the skin it is supposed to be helping. The reason is that they contain ingredients that are actually toxic. Other ingredients may not be harmful alone but when mixed with other ingredients in the product, cause a toxin to be created.

Paraffin is one such ingredient. It is often used as a filler in cheaper beauty products. Paraffin is harmful because it clogs and blocks the pores. Even more concerning is that paraffins can become contaminated during the manufacturing process. The chemical reaction of paraffins mixing with other ingredients can create hazardous toxins such as 1,4 Dioxane and PAHs which are known to cause cancer.

Paraben is another harmful ingredient. It is used as a preservative in many anti-aging products. Paraben is a petroleum derivative, also known as butyl, parahydroxy benzoates, ethyl, methyl, proplyl, or isobutyl paraben. Research has shown that paraben mimics estrogen which can interfere with the bodies' natural hormonal levels. Paraben can also increase the chance for skin cancer.

Dioxane is often times used as an artificial version of coconut cream. While coconut cream is good for the skin, dioxane is not. In fact, recently the State of California discovered that it causes skin cancer.

The list goes on and on. There are tons of dangerous chemicals lurking in anti-aging products that put a whole new twist on the old adage, "If looks could kill."

The news is not all bad though. There are plenty of great anti-aging products to choose from that are organic or all natural and that use helpful ingredients rather than harmful ones. Look for healthy and effective solutions like vitamin C serum , vitamin E lotion, collagen cream and other effective ingredients that do not rely on toxic fillers.

There are great anti-aging products that provide quality ingredients, time after time. Those are the brands to stick with that won't steer customers wrong.

Knowledge is power. Women who are researching their beauty products may be saving their own lives by purchasing as if their life depends on it because in fact, it does.
