The web site redesign is a result of the discontinuance of the Google Checkout service which Google announced in 2013.
The Google Checkout process not only provided the credit card processing at a competitive rate, it also provided an easy to integrate shopping card that worked seamlessly with the website and credit card processing.
Replacing the shopping cart was no easy task. All of the off the shelf products appeared to provide everything that was needed, but they all appeared to work best when starting from scratch. While this could have be done for the Artichoke Supplement site, it would have been prohibitive for the larger Vitamin Mineral Shop main site with more than two hundred existing web pages and countless back links from other web pages to pages other than the home page.
So, the Artichoke Supplement site was selected to use to work out implementing a new credit card processor and new shopping cart, with the plan to have the new process be as easy as possible to also use on the Vitamin Mineral Shop main web site.
With the data breaches at several big name stores, the security screening of websites having credit card processing has increased. The Vitamin Mineral Shop is proud to say the site has passed the security screening done by a third party security firm hired by the credit card processor.
