MJ thought it was actually a very important feature of the new version of ChiliPad. Just like any other electrical appliance, the control unit and the mattress pad would be more prone to wear and tear if it is overused.
In addition, MJ from OK also emphasized in his Amazon review, that buyers should understand first the concept of ChiliPad before they buy one. That way, they will not have false expectations. MJ from OK thought that the reason for a number of negative reviews on ChiliPad is because some buyers thought that they are buying an air-conditioning unit for their beds, which is not really the case.
According to MJ from OK, "Their [sic] is no refrigerant in the Chilipad like in your A/C unit to cool the water. A heat exchanger is the same as the radiator on your car. Air moves through the coils and cools the liquid in your car and cools your engine. The same goes for Chilipad and a heat exchanger becomes more effective the cooler the ambient air is." S/he suggested that users find the perfect temperature setting for their ChiliPad taking into consideration their core body temperature and the room temperature. Another ChiliPad user, Felicia V., supported this statement from MJ from OK.
The two other things about the new ChiliPad that MJ from OK also noticed are the quieter sound of its control unit, and the better customer service. Nevertheless, some of the users of the older versions appreciate the white noise that the control unit is producing. White noise is proven to help people sleep better through the night.
