However, it seems that rate of wear and tear in the joints significantly increases in individuals who are engaged in physical activities on a regular basis. Statistical data now indicates that ex-athletes are highly susceptible to joint and hip problems.
Studies revealed that ex-athletes are more prone to joint and hip problems when compared to non-athletes. In one study, it was found that soccer players are at a higher risk for hip arthritis, even if they stop playing in the future.
