A recent study has been investigating the link between sugar-sweetened soda intake and the risk for developing rheumatoid arthritis. Experts believe there is a logical explanation behind this finding. Sugar-sweetened soda is often linked to type 2 diabetes, heart disease and obesity, all of which are highly common in individuals who are suffering from rheumatoid arthritis. Following the findings, researchers are looking to definitively investigate whether sugary beverages trigger the development of arthritis.
"There are many variables involved in these types of studies. In the recent soda study, it was found that the women who drank one or more sodas were also more likely to exercise less and have poorer diets compared to those who consume fewer sugary beverages," said VitaBreeze Supplements spokesperson, Michelle O'Sullivan.
