Another high profile celebrity and Oscar winning actress Dame Judi Dench has also come out in public revealing her battle with macular degeneration. Now Dench relies on other people to read scripts to her, confessing that she can no longer see the person sitting in front of her. The recent revelations of Dench and Barr have brought to the spotlight a growing health concern in the United States.
Macular degeneration is the most common cause of vision loss for people over the age of 65 in America.
