No your cat doesn't really need you to be around, says a recent study

(Medical-NewsWire.com, December 11, 2015 ) Dr. Daniel Mills, who is the professor of veterinary behavioral medicine at the Univerity of Lincoln in Englands says that “Animal and human relationships may be built on different priorities for dogs safety and security is much needed but that's not an issue with cats.”

Further he stated, that cats are much of resource focussed and there might be various occassions you might heard where cat moved in with their neighbor who started to feed it good (rather than offer shelter or protection).

Based on classic psychology experiment known as 'strange situation' that was developed by American-Canadian psychologist Mary Ainsworth (1913-1999) where a baby is left in a room to play by mother/caretaker while a stranger walks in. This was used to determine how children are attached to their mothers.

Replicating this idea, experts used 20 cats in a room and then observed how they responded when they were left alone in a room with a stranger, owner or just alone. Cats volunteered were particularly attached to their owners, says Live Science.

It concluded that the cats voiced out slightly more mewos when their owners left them rather than with a stranger. However they did not notice any additional evidence to claim that cats are strongly bonded with their owners.

However these vocalization might be a sign of frustration or any learned response as there were no other signs of attachment. It so happens that in any weird or strange situations, emotionally attached individuals tend to stay close to their caretaker and when parted from them tend to demonstrate signs of distress and when they return can be happy. But they were certainly not apparent during the time of research.

Just like us humans, it is essential to keep our pet happy and in mirth always. If you are looking for natural treatment for your cat, there are many natural remedies for cats that work safely without any side effects. With proper support from your Vet you can eliminate many health risks from your cat's body.
