Alarming Air pollution in China with record breaking levels, says news

(Medical-NewsWire.com, December 15, 2015 ) While Beijing had PM2.5 of hazardous particulate matter (smaller than 2.5 microns), soar to 118 micrograms per cubic meter on average in November, which is a year on year increase by 39% says Ministry of Environmental Protection.

November saw few more days of heavy pollution compared to last year which has led to many people grab couple of indoor air purifiers (home or office) to get rid of this soaring pollution. Though it may not help on a large scale in eliminating outdoor air, it will certainly cut down the indoor pollution to a great extent.

Shenyang in Liaoning province suffered the worst air pollution among other 74 major cities of the nation, said Luo Yi, says head of the ministry's environmental monitoring department.

Heavy haze struck other northeastern provinces such as Heilongjian and Jilin during the iitial two weeks of November mainly due to central heating services that eats up heavy duty coals. Extreme readings of PM2.5 escalated to around 1400 micrograms per cubic meter in Shenyang. The national safety levels is 75.

The ministry claimed that coal consumption from heating plants was the major reason for the alarmingly severe smog. However, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Rural Development, claims that its the vehicle exhaust fumes that turn up the air pollution.

The use of coal consumption during cold seasons for heating and prominent use of low quality coal especially in the rural areas is one of the main reasons for air pollution. China Research Academy of Environmental Sciences promotes the public to improve the energy consumption structure with more eco-friendly source such as gas.

Wang Yuesi who is a researcher at the Institute of Atmospheric Physic of the Chinese Academy of Sciences say that vehicle exhaust fumes play a great role in ruining the natural breeze and worsening the pollution.
