Studies show how much weight you need to lose for people to notice

(Medical-NewsWire.com, December 16, 2015 ) A new study can actually tell how much weight you need to lose for people to actually take notice a difference in your looks and how much weight loss you need to implement so that people find you more attractive. Believe it or not they are entirely different concepts.

If you are aware, the face says a lot on what's going on inside the body. “Daniel Re, a postdoctoral fellow and co-author of the study at the University of Toronto, says that “It says a lot of things about our health, actually”.

The face indicates all about your immune system, cardio health, stress level, BMI and weight etc. For instance, if you are overweight, the fatty areas in the cheeks, called the buccal fat pads will give you a heavy look and if you are slim, the lack of fat will leave you a gaunty appearance.

A healthy BMI ranges from 18.5 to 24.9 and many love to “eye” faces that are at the lower end of the range, says the study.

For a change in your weight to show up on your face, you need to balance the BMI by 1.33 points. This means that a woman and man of average height would need to gain or lose 8 and 9 pounds respectively.

However, do note that just because people notice a change in your weight does not mean they will find you more attractive. So to be more attractive you need to lose a few that will encourage a healthy looking face as well.

For that, you need to cut down the BMI by 2.5 points which means a man and woman of average height need to lose around 14 pounds and 18 pounds respectively.

Researchers add that for technical reasons, however, gaunt faces are termed as unattractive just like overweight ones.

The most attractive faces come with a BMI of 19 for women and 24 for men. So for a woman and man of average height, body of 111 pounds and 165 pounds are best advised respectively.
