According to Academy Dental, there are several important reasons why patients need to undergo a dental checkup in Victoria. Then they also check the state of previous dental work done, such as fillings, crowns, and dental implants, to see that everything is right where they should be and that everything is healthy.
"Sometimes restorations like fillings and crowns can wear down, and they may need some repair service," adds Dr. Van Gyn. "It's also possible that bridges and dentures may need some alteration so that they fit more comfortably."
The dental checkups also include looking for various signs of oral cancer and gum disease. The earlier they're found, the earlier they can be treated.
