(Medical-NewsWire.com, March 08, 2016 ) Newark, NJ -- According to NJ.com, president Obama's 12 month budget beginning in October 2016 includes $1.1 billion over the next two years with the intent of aiding in the fight against heroin abuse in New Jersey. These funds would be applied toward treatment and preventive measures regarding heroin use and abuse of prescription pain medication. Specifically, the funds will go toward training, providing life-saving overdose reversal drugs, and publicly funded addiction treatment in Newark and across New Jersey. Additionally, law enforcement intended to stem the trafficking of heroin into the U.S. has been increased.
Drug Rehab Newark, a private facility providing addiction treatment in Newark, supports president Obama's initiative for confronting the overwhelming heroin abuse epidemic in New Jersey. Through their work with the afflicted communities of Newark and others across New Jersey, Drug Rehab Newark is intimately aware of the need for a more hands-on approach to healing the American people.
A representative of Drug Rehab Newark comments,
"President Obama's plans to aid the people of New Jersey is a wonderful step in the right direction. With greater attention being afforded to the ever-growing substance abuse problem, we can address the issue as a united front. Ending the stigma, education, and greater access to rehabilitation services will go a long way to reinvigorating our country as a whole. With the additional funding and increased public services, we can hope to see true and genuine improvement in New Jersey's substance abuse troubles."
