He considers TENS therapy a possible means of helping patients suffering from Fibromyalgia. However, Dr. Thompson shares that TENS treatment may be effective treatment at reducing fibromyalgia pain--particularly when TENS is combined with exercise and stress reduction.
Dr. Thompson adds in his article that the main treatment for Fibromyalgia is regular and controlled exercise. This is followed by a healthy diet, enough resting time and effective management of stress. He also recommends undergoing cognitive-behavioral therapy, which is mainly coordinating with a mental health expert in order to come up with the most fitting ways to deal with this condition.
The TENS unit pads help to enhance the benefits of electrical nerve stimulation. Fibromyalgia patients can use them in case they already have an existing TENS machine. These pads can be reused many times, but when they are not sticking anymore, it may be an indication that they need to be replaced.
