The article was based on more than 70 previous reviews which gives evidence that second hand smoke leads to breathing problems and asthma in kids.
As of now, experts still haven't pinpointed what makes a person have asthma or not. Most research however points towards allergies, however there are other causes that can cause asthma. One of the most common triggers of asthma is cigarette smoke and frequent exposure to smoke onsets asthma symptoms especially in kids.
Researchers from the United Kingdom looked at 71 studies to learn the effects on kids of a family member who is a constant smoker. The review was published in the journal Paediatrics and it shows that exposure to second hand smoke has an at least 20 percent increase of causing asthma symptoms such as wheezing and coughing. Shockingly the report confirmed that the most serious levels of exposure came from prenatal mothers and in the home of children under 2 years.
There is also a report from Georgia Health Sciences University that shows the harmful effect of inhaling second hand smoke at home. The researchers found small amount of nicotine breakdown in the saliva of 75 percent of the 428 fourth-graders they tested. The alarming numbers shows that there are people constantly smoking around the children like their parents or family member that smokes.

To keep children protected at home where there is a family member that is smoking, the company strongly advice that the household get an air purifier to make the air in the house clean, fresh and cigarette smoke free. They would however, recommend to all smokers to never smoke around babies and children.
