It offers both LSPs and clients a description and definition of the entire service and provides LSPs with a set of procedures and requirements encompassing the core translation process and all related aspects involved in providing the service. These include: human resources, technical requirements, quality assurance, project management, contractual framework, service procedures, and traceability. The standard also requires monitoring the processes used to execute the translation service – from order acceptance to delivery. Unlike ISO 9001:2008 compliance, which demonstrates a commitment to quality management systems, EN 15038:2006 addresses the translation-specific processes considered important in determining quality outcomes.
