Dietary Supplement Raspberry Ketones boasts Big Promises at Cheap Cost reports RaspberryKetonePure.com

(Medical-NewsWire.com, September 20, 2012 ) San Francisco, CA- Raspberry ketones are the newest dietary craze, after being promoted in Dr. Oz’s show by Lisa Lynn, a fitness expert. The backers of the ketones promise weight loss without compromising taste. Oz tells his audience that he, “never understood how powerful it could be.” His surprise is understandable as the supplement is not tested on humans by any reputable scientific agency or group.

Still, sales of the supplement continue to rise. Lynn sells her own line of the product and calls it LynFit Nutrition Supplements, with raspberry ketones acting as a main ingredient. She describes the ingredient as “very healthy” and “with no side effects.” She claims that the supplements have been able to aid customers as early as the first five days. She argues her pills help the body to “burn fat easier.” However, she does not explain how or why the pills have this effect.

The science and medical community echo concern in response to Lynn’s claims and state that there is no way of achieving long-lasting weight loss without exercise and careful dietary choices. The products tend to cost less than twenty dollars, and thus it is understandable for them to be popular. They seem to be an affordable product with a big promise.

Nevertheless, the medical community is quick to point out that it could be a scam or a product that works temporarily and then stops working. Dr. Robert Lustig, a professor of Pediatrics at UC San Francisco, said that animal studies of these supplements are not enough for him to recommend the product. He says, “Until there are human studies, I won’t weigh in.”

Mary Hartley, a dietician and clinical nutritionist in Brooklyn, New York, understands the reasons behind the craze and shares, “People are willing to take chances. It's amazing how many people look for a miracle instead of looking at what they're eating and how much they're moving and fixing whatever is broken.”

The packaging of these products sends out this message of wholesome goodness, and freshness, but the medical community remains firm in warning people against using something that promises so much without having actual studies test it for safety and long-term effectiveness. Whether people will listen to such warnings is a question only time will tell.
