(EMAILWIRE.COM, February 22, 2010 ) Orlando, FL - Morgan & Morgan, PA is alerting consumers that GlaxoSmithKline has announced that it will voluntarily remove zinc from all of its denture cream products, including Poligrip and Super Poligrip. GSK will end the manufacture and supply of its zinc-containing denture adhesives and transition to zinc-free versions of these products. This announcement comes after scientific studies have identified a link between the use of zinc-containing denture adhesives and neurological problems, including neuropathy. In addition, there are currently 75 denture cream cases cases consolidated before U.S. District Judge Cecilia M. Altonaga in the Southern District of Florida.
These denture cream lawsuits have been filed against GlaxoSmithKline and Proctor & Gamble (manufacturer of Fixodent).
