(EMAILWIRE.COM, March 02, 2007 ) San Angelo, TX – Growing up in New York, Lorena McLaughlin never even thought about the prospect of homesteading in Texas or raising emu. Today McLaughlin runs a profitable farm to finish emu operation in Hillsboro, TX. She credits part of her success with being a member of the American Emu Association’s Certified Business Member Program, which she is rejoining this March. The Certified Business Member (CBM) program was originally set up to enable the American Emu Association (AEA) to refer consumers to companies able to respond quickly and professionally to inquiries for emu oil or meat. Partial use of the CBM program fees in the past have included development of an infomercial, press releases and their distribution as well as production of oil and meat brochures. The program opens for sign-ups in January and closes March 20th each year. McLaughlin’s company, Emu-Spirit, represents three skin care product lines, as well as a line of pet care products. “We sell both retail and wholesale,” said McLaughlin. “We will work with established companies that want to expand their product base by including a line of emu oil products.” “This will be the fifth year that Emu-Spirit has participated in the Certified Business Member Program,” said Charles Ramey, AEA President. “We appreciate her support of the industry and hope this year will be the best ever for Emu-Spirit.“ For more information about Emu-Spirit and the products they represent, call 888-483-9995, email emuspirit@aol.com, or visit their website http://www.emu-spirit.com.The American Emu Association is a non-profit trade association representing the emu industry. The emu industry is an alternative agricultural industry, dominated by the small farmer, who is devoted to humane and environmentally positive practices that will produce beneficial products for society.
