(EMAILWIRE.COM, December 06, 2011 ) Minneapolis, MN -- Dental Health Care Center hygienist, Laura Schmitz organized the first annual Twin Cities Oral Cancer Awareness walk/fun run at Lake Harriet. The event was hosted by the Minnesota Dental HygienistsÂ’ Association and the Minnesota Dental AssistantsÂ’ Association. The event raised just over $12,000 for the Oral Cancer Foundation, which is a national non-profit entity that focuses on prevention and treatment of oral cancer.
In addition to being a full time dental hygienist, Laura is the Vice President of the Minnesota Dental Hygienists’ Association. “She is a caring and dedicated hygienist that firmly believes in the oral cancer prevention cause, says Dr. John Woell at DHCC. She exerts great effort to help people in need. Her efforts to organize and participate in this event are one of many things she does to help people.”
