(EMAILWIRE.COM, December 13, 2011 ) Minneapolis, MN -- After 17 years as a volunteer dentist at the Union Gospel Mission, Dr. Scott Lingle received the volunteer award for 2010. Dr. Lingle has treated people from all over the community that are unable to pay for dental services. Although most treatments have been for emergencies, the Mission is now able to help people with preventative care as well.
Jessica Flotterud, Union Gospel Mission Dental Director, says, “we are very blessed this past year with the grants we have been able to acquire. We were always known as an emergency clinic but we can we can now say that we can also help with saving more teeth and prevention. My hope is that we are able to come by more grants in the future so that we can keep the clinic open so many hours through the week. From January through October we have seen 1938 patients for 4261 appointments! We could not have done it without you, thank you. “
