Pradaxa Attorneys Available to Review GI Bleed, Internal Bleeding Claims

(EMAILWIRE.COM, March 20, 2012 ) New York, NY – The Pradaxa attorneys working with ClassAction.org are available to review claims on behalf of patients who took the blood thinner and suffered gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding, brain hemorrhaging or any other form of internal bleeding. Three lawsuits have already been filed by Pradaxa attorneys in Louisiana, Tennessee and Kentucky on behalf of people allegedly harmed by the drug. If you or a loved one has taken Pradaxa and suffered a serious bleeding episode, you may also have legal recourse to seek compensation for medical bills and other damages. To learn more, visit http://www.classaction.org/pradaxa.html for a free no obligation case review, offered at no cost by the Pradaxa attorneys working with the website.

In Dec. 2011, the FDA released an announcement that it would be evaluating post-marketing reports of serious bleeding episodes in patients taking Pradaxa. While severe and even fatal bleeding events are a well-recognized complication of anticoagulants, the agency said it is looking to determine whether the reports of Pradaxa bleeding in users are occurring more commonly than expected. According to the FDA, Pradaxa users should seek immediate medical care if they notice any signs which may indicate bleeding such as red or black tarry stools; vomiting or coughing up blood; frequent nose bleeds; abnormal bleeding from the gums; heavier than normal menstrual bleeding; and pink or brown-colored urine.

Pradaxa was approved in Oct. 2010 to reduce the risk of stroke in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation. Unlike older blood thinners, such as Coumadin (warfarin), Pradaxa has no antidote. While the anticlotting effects of Coumadin can be reversed with Vitamin K, no such reversal agent exists for Pradaxa users. Therefore, if a patient starts bleeding uncontrollably on Pradaxa, their only option is to undergo dialysis, according to reports.
For more information on the reported Pradaxa bleeding risk, visit ClassAction.org today. On the site, users can request a free evaluation of their claim to help determine whether they can file a Pradaxa lawsuit to seek compensation for their injury or loss of a loved one. This free consultation is offered at no cost and with no obligation, courtesy of the Pradaxa lawyers working with the website.
