Coursework focuses on the fund-raising components of the benefit auction event, item acquisition, audience development, additional revenue items, contractual agreements and public relations. Nationally recognized auctioneers and professionals who serve the benefit auction industry teach the BAS program. Completion of a three-day course and submission of an auction summary report are required to earn the designation.According to a recent MORPACE International study, benefit auctions have been on the rise, with a 16.3 percent increase since 2003.
