(Medical-NewsWire.com, July 11, 2012 ) Dothan, AL - PeachCare for Kids is a Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH) sponsored program that provides free or low cost comprehensive health care insurance to children through the age of 18 who do not qualify for Medicaid and live in households with incomes at or below 235% of the federal poverty level. According to PeachCare’s website, a family of three can earn $44,868 a year and a family of four can earn $54,180 a year and still may qualify for the low cost insurance which ranges from $0 to $35 per month.
PeachCare for Kids health benefits include the following preventive services:
• Immunizations
• Regular check-ups
• Specialist care
• Dental care
• Mental health care
• Vision care
• Emergency room services
• Prescription medications.
Parents will have a choice of a Georgia Families Care Management Organization, which is a private health plan that is responsible for coordinating your child’s health care. Parents will also be able to choose a primary care provider for their child. For eligible children under age six, there is no monthly cost for PeachCare. However, for those older than six the monthly coverage ranges between $10-$35 for one child and a maximum of $70 for two or more children living in the same household.
