(Medical-NewsWire.com, July 19, 2012 ) SANTA FE, NM -- This August Southwestern College will present its 31st Annual Transformation and Healing Conference. The annual event provides opportunity for licensed professionals to expand their knowledge and earn required Continuing Education Credits (CECs). Eighteen workshops and two Keynote presentations will be held on the theme: Through the Looking Glass: Perspectives on Systems, Trauma and Resilience.
The theme of this year’s conference focuses on understanding humans in the context of their systems. Family systems, internalized systems and cultural systems, are found to be both sources of trauma and resources for healing and resilience.
Conference workshops will include a variety of topics for professionals looking to not only meet the requirements for continuing education, but to also add to their methods and understanding of the human psyche. Attendees will be able to choose from topics that can help them pinpoint sources of trauma through use of art therapy based and other therapies.
Among the workshops offered are several dealing with trauma that crosses generational boundaries, including how transgenerational elements can also be used in healing. Additional workshops will explore methods of healing from using gentle art based techniques to mind-body therapeutics and the differences and methods of eastern and western philosophies. There will also be workshops that explore how some of the major events in our lives can be sources of trauma and dealing with them.
Registration is currently open, and for those looking to attend the full conference the early bird price is available until August 9th.
