Affordable Care Act likely to improve health care standards in California reports 2HealthInsurance.net

(Medical-NewsWire.com, August 16, 2012 ) San Francisco, CA -- States can provide residents with excellent health care and reduced costs by combining federal funding and Medicaid expansion while rewarding growth and excellence in health care sector.

Medicaid in the United States is an extremely valuable health care tool, particularly, considering it protects seniors and other vulnerable citizens. Perhaps, that is the reason it remains under the microscope more often than not.

With the development of Affordable Care Act in the country, Medicaid is expected to become even more significant. Politicians and pundits are convinced that several states will go for Affordable Car Act’s Medicaid escalation due to its low cost.

According to sfgate.com, with this new development, as many as 2 million people could be left uninsured, but it seems, in California, the act can deliver better and improved care services to the locals.

In 2010, California was the only state that improved the quality of care in safety hospitals and expanded access to health care for the needy people. The federal government decided to approve a waiver for the state of California to let the health care foundations give health insurance coverage to low income adults and families.

According to the stats released by the health sector, more than 360,000 previously uninsured individuals gained access to health care cover in first nine months of the program.

These numbers were absolutely staggering considering the fact the program was still imperfect. The number of people getting health insurance in California in first year of the program was more than the combined uncovered people in eighteen other states.

Both red and blue counties have played a key role in expanding the Medicaid (also known as Medi-Cal in the state) program in California.

The counties teamed up to introduce changes to improve Medi-Cal, which included setting up health information exchanges, medical trainings and promoting use of technology to improve people’s reach to medical consultants.
